Ala Moana Beach Park offers acres of shady trees, picnic tables, and a wide expanse of grass to play around in the park, including tennis courts, 3 concession stands, and a half crescent beach called Magic Island. You’ll find joggers, picnickers, fishers, model airplane flyers, model boat sailors, sunbathers, surfers and swimmers at this magical spot. Many families enjoy this spot as parking is plentiful and the ocean bottom is shallow and rock-free. Many famous surfing sites are found offshore at the edge of the reef so chances are you’ll be able to view some surfers doing their thing! On the other side of Magic Island is the Kahanamoku Lagoon and this place is beautiful! This man-made lagoon has been recently upgraded to offer the best place to hang out and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii.
